The collapse of a stage and scaffolding at the Indiana State Fair on 13 August this year is claiming another victim, which will bring the number of deaths to seven with over forty injuries, some very serious.

Meagan Toothman who is 24, remains on life support with no hope of recovery after high winds estimated to be at 60-70 mph toppled scaffolding and a stage at the fair in Indianapolis causing very serious head injuries to Toothman, and many others. Her family’s website on Monday states that
“Late last night it became apparent that our Meagan was no longer with us. The decision was made to allow to her to be at peace. This afternoon she is scheduled for a surgery that will provide gifts of sight, health, and life to dozens who are in need.”

Five people died immediately after the tragic event on Thursday night, with a sixth succumbing to injuries on Friday. With the donation of Toothman’s organs, something good will have come out of this terrible tragedy.

Toothman was working as a cheer leading coach at Turpin High School in Cincinnati, Ohio where she lived, and she had completed her bachelor’s degree at Wittenberg University in Ohio and was working towards her Master’s degree in school psychology.
